Overview
Takayama Matsuri consists of two separate festivals called Reitaisai, the most important event of a shrine, in this case, Hie Shrine in Spring and Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine in Autumn.
Hachiman Matsuri is held on October 9th and 10th at the north side of the city where you can see 11 festival floats called Dashi which is decorated with gorgeous exteriors.

Though the origin of the festival is unknown, it is believed that the festival is started between 1586 and 1692.
