Overview
Hojoya festival is held to dedicate to kami Hachiman of Hakozaki Hachiman-gu Shrine to thank for the blessings of nature and a good harvest in autumn.
Besides Shinto rituals and ceremonies, the festival is famous for the massive number of street vendors who provide many different types of street food, carnival games, and traditional glass toys called “Chanpon”.

The first Hojoya Festival at Hakozakigu Shrine was held in 919 AD.
